Wishing all of you pleasant moments on the Chiroblog.
Originally created by two french bat researchers, Meriadeg and Sébastien, the "Chiroblog" is a french blog relaying news from the bat world. For several months, I have joined the editorial team. Resolution of year 2012 consists in publishing a monthly newsletter selecting the most relevant publications on bat research. A new function is now available with an automatic translation from french to english, spanish, german and many other languages!
Wishing all of you pleasant moments on the Chiroblog.

The first bats are taking advantage of the warmer temperatures and the coming back of insects to emerge from their roosts and start foraging at dawn. Latests news from my institute are the inauguration of the new building, you can see a few pictures here. Two big weeks before the departure for Panama, I need to do more preparation for the equipment and I will also attend the selection symposium of my Doctoral school for new PhD positions.
Busy weekend with my first thesis committee in Radolfzell last Friday. This meeting provided an update on my first 6 months, to see the goals achieved or missed, and prepare the program for the coming year.
I then took the road to Bourges, France, for the 14th french bat meeting of the SFEPM (French society for the study and protection of Mammals). It was an opportunity to meet a lot of colleagues, exchange and keep abreast of the latest news from the bat world. I had the opportunity to present my thesis project under the title "Group hunting in a Molossidae of Panama: what benefits for this behavior?". I hope to have the opportunity to return to Bourges in two years to present my results! |
